Lorne Park Jr. Ojibwa Tyke Program 2015 - 2016 Season

Learn to Play
(3 yrs old @ December 31, 2015)

The Learn to Play program is built into our Lorne Park Jr. Ojibwa Tyke program which allows players who have not yet turned 4 years of age by December 31st to participate in the hockey program. Learn to Play is a FUN way to build stick and puck skills while continuing to strengthen their skating ability. This program is one hour a week on Saturday mornings in full hockey equipment. Lego LeagueBeginning Players
(Ages 4 – 6 yrs old, Year of Birth 2009 – 2011)

It’s called the Lego League because we work on the building blocks of standing, skating, stick and puck control all the while having lots of fun in the process. The Lego League kids practice Saturdays and once they’re ready to play and benefit from team experience they are “drafted” to a team and begin to play in Sunday games with Jr. Ojibwa Tyke teams. Most kids are moved to a team by January 1st, after four months. Register Now!

Lorne Park Jr. Ojibwa Tyke Program
(4 – 6 yrs old, Year of Birth 2009 – 2011)

Players are evaluated at the beginning of the Season and convened into 8 – 10 teams comprised of a mix of 4, 5 and 6 year olds.Teams are then structured into a two line system with the A line being the more skilled skaters. In game play, A lines play against each other, as do the B lines, maximizing each player’s ability to compete against those of similar skills. The full ice and multiple stations are used for practices to create variety when working on skating, shooting and puck control drills. Rotating times are used for practices on Saturday and games on Sunday. Register Now!

**Please note:  all players must have full hockey gear including neck protection, helmet and a hockey stick.

VOLUNTEERS

The Jr. Ojibwa teams will have volunteers (mostly players from bantam to midget) that will help with the teams.  We also need Assistant Coaches and Parent volunteers - please contact jrojibwa@lpha.ca if you are interested.

All parent volunteers MUST have police check / photo ID / Speak-Out Course before anyone is allowed on ice to help. Please visit Mississauga Hockey League website at www.hockey.on.ca to find those clinics.
